The March-April issue examines some of the world's conflict zones and raises elements that are too often ignored in the conventional North American narrative. That perspective is shaped from a distance by politicians, the military and the media, all of which have particular needs, such as partisan gain, a happier spin on an ugly reality, or a simplified fable of good versus evil.
