Canada, the GATT and the International Trade System (Second Edition)

Frank Stone

The multilateral trade system created after W.W.II represents a successful effort in international co-operation. But during recent years of adverse world economic conditions, severe strains have emerged within the system, threatening the principles on which it is based. This study examines the origins, structure and operations of GATT and the other international agreements and institutions that make up the multilateral trade system.
